The sun is out and an extra hour has been added to our days. What will you do with yours? These are the golden months in the Pacific Northwest, so if you can get out for a hike while the weather is pleasant, it’s magical.
Here are some of my favorites if you’re interested in planning a day on the trails:
This is arguably one of the easiest hikes in the Seattle area, and great for kids and families. You’ll enjoy several viewpoints, as well as open green spaces to run, throw a frisbee, or have a picnic. Get there early to find parking!
One of the most popular trails in the area, this is a good day hike for those who may just be starting out. The views from the inside are something out of a movie wonderland, so be sure to bring a fully-charged phone for pictures! The trail is pet-friendly for those wanting their furry friend to tag along.
This moderate hike can be found just outside of Duvall, and is great if you’re wanting to bring your pet! The view of the waterfalls is stunning, and a great photo op. The trail does neighbor private property, so be sure to be quiet, clean, and respectful.
This is a popular hike for one reason alone, and that’s the incredible views that come from this hike. Rarely will you find water as vibrantly blue. Make sure your phone is fully-charged for pictures! You’ll see wildlife, beautiful plants, and plenty of other faces saying "hello!" with a smile.
Located near Issaquah, this trail is less crowded due to the elevation gain of 1,896ft and 8.4 mile length. This is a great option if you’ve got a dedicated day to the trails, and can take your time enjoying the journey.
Remember, when hiking, it’s important to go with others if you can, and stay within your skill level to avoid injury. Arrive early for the best chance at finding parking, and always check to see if a Discover Pass is required! If you embark on any of the above hikes, especially with your furry friends, send a photo my way! I’d love to share it on social media.
If you’re looking for your dream home in the greater Seattle area, I’d love to help you with your search. Send me a note anytime, and let’s discuss your goals!
